Blockout roller blinds give a room a simple finish while reducing light through the fabric. Impact Blinds helps Auckland homeowners choose the right fabric and fit for bedrooms, street-facing rooms and spaces where privacy matters.
A darker room starts with fabric and fit
Blockout fabric is opaque, but the completed blind does not automatically make a room completely dark. Light can enter around the sides, above the roller and below the bottom rail. The mounting position and window shape make a difference.
Tell us whether you want to soften early morning light, improve privacy in the evening or make daytime rest more comfortable. We can discuss recess and face-fit options and explain the likely gaps before you order.
Choose a finish that works with the room
Look at colour samples alongside the wall, flooring and window frame. A quiet neutral can sit back into the room, while a contrasting colour can give the opening more definition. View fabrics in your own daylight where possible.
For a room that needs an outside view during the day as well as privacy at night, consider dual roller blinds. The second sunscreen or light-filtering layer provides a different way to use the window.
A clear specification, a reliable fit
Start with approximate measurements and a photo of the opening. Your quote can then be based on the chosen fabric, dimensions, controls and fitting requirements. Ask whether measuring, installation and any motorised option are included.
For cleaning, follow the instructions for the actual fabric and coating. Dust gently and avoid soaking, abrasive cleaners or unapproved spot treatments. Our measuring guide explains what to record before speaking with the team.
Questions about blockout roller blinds
Are blackout and blockout blinds the same thing?
The terms are often used for opaque roller fabrics. The important question is how much light the installed blind will keep out, including at the edges.
Can blockout blinds be motorised?
Ask us to check the available motor and fabric combination for your window. Power supply, blind size and control choices should be confirmed as part of the quote.
Planning your measure, quote and warranty
Can you visit to measure my windows?
Yes. Impact Blinds offers free visits to measure. Tell us your Auckland suburb, the windows involved and any fitting concerns so we can arrange a suitable appointment.
What information helps you prepare a quote?
Send photos, approximate width and drop for each opening, your preferred material and whether you need installation. We will confirm the product specification and final sizes before manufacture. See our guide to comparing blinds costs.
Which products have the 10-year warranty?
Blinds manufactured in our Auckland factory and our shutters come with a 10-year warranty. Other products carry the warranty shown on your quote or invoice. See warranty details and how to make a claim.
