Sunscreen roller blinds soften bright daylight while keeping a filtered view outside. They are a useful starting point for Auckland living rooms, home offices and larger windows where glare is a concern but you still want a connection to the outdoors.
Balance the view with the light
An open-weave fabric screens light rather than turning the room dark. The openness and colour of the fabric influence how much you can see through it and how the light feels inside. Compare samples at a window, not just against a wall.
Tell us when glare is strongest and where you sit, work or watch television. The direction of the window and nearby buildings can affect the result, so photographs of the space help us give more relevant advice.
Understand daytime and night-time privacy
Sunscreen fabric is not a guaranteed night-time privacy solution. Visibility changes with the relative brightness indoors and outdoors; when lights are on inside after dark, people outside may be able to see in.
If you need privacy after sunset, compare dual roller blinds with a separate blockout layer. If a view out is less important than a softly lit room, look at light-filtering fabrics as well.
Choose the fabric before finalising the quote
A made-to-measure blind should be specified for the actual window and the way you use the room. Discuss the mounting position, control side and any door or handle clearance with our team.
We offer advice and installation in Auckland from our Wairau Valley base. For everyday care, remove dust gently and follow the instructions supplied with the fabric; do not assume every sunscreen can be washed the same way.
Questions about sunscreen roller blinds
Will a sunscreen blind keep all sun damage out?
Do not assume complete protection. The result depends on the selected fabric, glazing, gaps and exposure. Ask for the fabric’s documented properties if UV or solar performance is a deciding factor.
Planning your measure, quote and warranty
Can you visit to measure my windows?
Yes. Impact Blinds offers free visits to measure. Tell us your Auckland suburb, the windows involved and any fitting concerns so we can arrange a suitable appointment.
What information helps you prepare a quote?
Send photos, approximate width and drop for each opening, your preferred material and whether you need installation. We will confirm the product specification and final sizes before manufacture. See our guide to comparing blinds costs.
Which products have the 10-year warranty?
Blinds manufactured in our Auckland factory and our shutters come with a 10-year warranty. Other products carry the warranty shown on your quote or invoice. See warranty details and how to make a claim.
