We make and install our blinds to last. This page explains which products carry our 10-year warranty, what the warranty covers, what it doesn’t, and how to make a claim.

What the warranty covers
The warranty covers defects in materials and manufacture during normal use in the environment agreed for your product, for example:
- a headrail, bracket or bottom rail that fails
- a winding, tilting or tensioning mechanism that stops working
- fabric seams or slats that come apart because of a manufacturing fault
- operating parts, such as chains, wands and cord safety devices, that fail because of a defect.
If a product we supplied has a covered defect, contact us so we can assess it and arrange an appropriate remedy. This may include repair or replacement, without limiting any remedy you are entitled to under the Consumer Guarantees Act.
What the warranty doesn’t cover
These exclusions concern normal product characteristics or damage caused by the circumstances below. They do not remove your statutory rights or exclude a product that was defective, unsuitable for its agreed purpose or incorrectly installed by us.
- Normal wear and tear, such as gradual wear on cords, chains and fabric edges.
- Fading or colour change caused by sunlight and UV exposure over time, and the natural variation in timber grain and colour.
- Accidental damage, misuse or forcing a blind to operate, including damage caused by pets or children pulling on blinds or cords.
- Moisture and condensation damage, including timber products used in wet areas such as bathrooms and laundries.
- Damage from cleaning with harsh chemicals, abrasives or excess water.
- Damage caused by incorrect installation, moving, alteration or repair by someone other than Impact Blinds. This does not exclude an unrelated manufacturing defect.
- Damage from extreme weather or from using outdoor blinds in conditions they aren’t designed for, such as leaving them down in strong winds.
- Batteries and other consumable parts.
- Small light gaps around the edges of a blind, which are a normal part of how blinds are made and fitted.
How to make a claim
If you think there is a problem, contact us promptly. For a claim under this warranty, contact us within the applicable warranty period. You may still have rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act after a written warranty expires.
- Email impactblindsnz@gmail.com with “Warranty claim” in the subject line.
- Include your name, address and phone number, your invoice or quote number (if you have it), which room and product the problem is with, and a short description.
- Attach clear photos or a short video showing the problem.
- We’ll get back to you to talk it through and, if needed, arrange a time to inspect, repair or replace the product.
Please keep your invoice, as it helps us confirm the product and installation date.
Your rights under New Zealand law
This warranty is in addition to your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and doesn’t limit them. If something goes wrong, contact us first. As the business that sold you the product, we’ll deal with the issue for you.
For business purchases, any lawful exclusion of the Consumer Guarantees Act must be expressly agreed in writing where permitted. Your written product warranty remains applicable.
